Obituary

Patricia (Pat) A. Sondgeroth, 61, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 7th at Advent Health in Orlando, Florida.

Patricia was born September 21st, 1959, to John and Nina (Arnold) Panneck in Peru, Illinois. She attended Peru Catholic schools for early education, followed by St. Bede Academy (Class of '77) and IVCC, where she was extremely active in theatre and drama. It was during a production of The Wizard of Oz that she met her future husband Gregory Sondgeroth, of Mendota, Illinois. They were married on August 12, 1989 and during their 31 loving years together had three wonderful children.

Patricia worked as a COA for the Gailey Eye Clinic in Peru, Illinois for many years. Afterwards, she worked as a Personal Secretary for Dick Janko, also in Peru, Illinois. Along the way, she wore many hats, working to help serve those around her in many different capacities.

Patricia loved to travel and be in the warmth and sunshine. Her favorite place to go was Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and she made countless memories there with family and friends. She loved bowling, golfing, exploring Florida's theme parks, and cheering on and supporting her children and all those she loved like family in all of their endeavors. Pat used her humor and optimism to bring smiles and laughter to everyone she met, and to make the best out of every situation, no matter how difficult it seemed.

She was excited and looking forward to becoming a Grandmother this year, with her first grandchild due this July.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Gregory; her three children: Kelsey (Jacob) Thompson of Davenport, IA, Haley Sondgeroth of Orlando, FL, and Dominic Sondgeroth of Orlando, FL; her fur-child Arlo of Orlando, FL; her sisters: Mary Panneck of Peru, IL, and Elizabeth Holcomb of Champaign, IL; and many other family members.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nina Panneck, as well as her beloved dogs Michelle, Casper, and Rollie.

Services and burial will be held in Illinois at a later date. Per family wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Bede Academy (Peru, IL) or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

The family of Patricia Ann Sondgeroth invites you to leave a message of condolence on the Tribute Wall created in her loving memory.
