Patricia Ann Jenkins (Rossman) went to Heaven peacefully on May 29, 2026 in Sanford, Florida at the age of 87.
She was born on November 15, 1938 in Mayfield, New York to Jack and Clara Bell Rossman.
Patricia is survived by her daughters, Sharon Hichborn (Frank) of Deltona, Mary Lynne Landers of Sanford, Loretta Summerlin of Geneva, and Casey Holloway (William) of Longwood. She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Clara Belle Rossman of Longwood; her brother, Armon Rossman, of Lake Helen; her daughter, LoWana Laboy, of Sanford; and her grandson, David Summerlin, of Lake Mary.
Pat was the valedictorian of her 8th grade class, and served as the team captain of her junior high school basketball team. She was a graduate of Seminole High School, Class of 1956, where she was a proud member and trumpet player in the marching band. Known as the "Celery Feds", the school's marching band was invited to play at the Mardi Gras Parade in New Orleans during her time there.
In 1957, she married Hubie Summerlin and had four children, then later divorced. She later married Tommy Jenkins in 1971, and had one more child. In the late 1970's, Pat was a newspaper columnist for The Lake Mary Herald and Little Sentinel section of the Orlando Sentinel.
Pat was a lifelong servant to the Lord. She was a pianist and organist at several local Baptist churches, church secretary, Sunday school teacher, and Vacation Bible School teacher, among other duties. Pat and her sister also led evening church services as teenagers. She also started learning the piano at age six, and she played piano for all the churches she attended after she turned 14 years old.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Pat Jenkins' life. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 11:00 am at Westview Baptist Church, 4100 H.E. Thomas, Jr. Pkwy, Sanford, FL 32771 with Pastor Charlie Higgins officiating.
The family will receive friends and visitors to pay their respects preceding the service on Saturday, June 6 from 10:30 am to 11:00 am at the church.
A reception and fellowship will follow the service.
Flowers and condolences for the family may be delivered to the church on Saturday, June 6. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pat's memory may be given to the Westview Baptist Church Benevolent Fund.
