Obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Piyus Patel, who passed away on July 11, 2026, at the age of 69.

Piyus was born on August 2, 1957, in Kampala, Uganda, to his loving parents, Shantilal Maganbhai Patel and Pushpa Patel, who both preceded him in death.

After leaving Uganda, Piyus made his home in London, England, where he lived for more than 25 years. During that time, he proudly owned and operated The Village News, a local newsagent in Warlingham, becoming a familiar and friendly face in the community through his hard work, dedication, and kindness.

Piyus will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Sheila ; his eldest daughter, Pooja; his son-in-law, Shailen, who was truly like a son to him; and his younger daughter, Serena. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Grishma (HariKrishna), Nutan (Janak) and Brinda, his mother-in-law, Savitaben Patel, his brother-in-law, Satish (Niru), many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister-in-law, Kumud Patel, and his brother-in-law, Ramesh Patel.

Piyus was a hardworking, resilient, and kind-hearted man who faced life's challenges with remarkable strength and courage. Despite his many health challenges, he entered every room with a smile and exuded kindness to everyone he met. His gentle spirit, warm heart, and unwavering love for his family touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.His greatest love was his family. He adored his wife, Sheilaben, and his daughters, Pooja and Serena, who were his pride and joy. He was a devoted husband and a loving father whose greatest happiness came from seeing his family together.

Above all, Piyus treasured being a grandfather. His beloved grandchildren, Siya (5) and Rian (2), brought immeasurable joy to his life. They were the light of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Their laughter, hugs, and smiles filled his heart, and the love they shared will forever be treasured.

Piyus leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, generosity, and devotion. Although he is no longer with us, his strength, kindness, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
