We all lost the smiling face of a woman who loved deeply and honestly. To all who she met, she brought out the best in them. Her big heart and attentive kindness will be missed by many.
Olga was born in Slovenia- Ljubljana and moved to Sarajevo as a very young girl. She met her husband Jure-George Vucemilovic when they were both 19 years old in Split, Croatia and had a loving relationship for 63 years. Their two sons were born 1962 and 1966. The family lived in Split where they spent their summers and in 1972 immigrated to Astoria, New York. There, she continued in her trade as a dressmaker and pattern maker in the garment district, but also worked nights and weekends in a catering hall serving many as a head waitress. This hard work got her two sons through medical school and one of them is serving our St. Petersburg community.
Olga and Jure retired in 1996 and spent their days traveling between Split, New York, and Orlando, Florida where they retired. Her immense love were her three grandchildren, Marta, Filip, and Pia -Antonia, who, completed St. Paul's Catholic School, then St. Petersburg Catholic high school; now all three peruse their medical schooling back in Split, Croatia.
Olga was very active with the Croatian community in Astoria, New York and Florida devoting endless hours cooking, serving, and sewing. Everyone that met her noticed her endless smile that only competed with her tireless loving hands.

"Nothing was too difficult for her to do".
