Norman Cohn, age 91, of Lake Mary, Florida passed away at home on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in Lake Mary, Florida. Mr. Cohn was born February 23, 1922 in St. Louis, MO. Preceded in death by his father and mother, Irvin and Sara (Abrams) Cohn. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-six years, Fay Cohn; daughter Carolyn Lynch and son-in-law Richard Lynch; daughter Robyn Cohn; son Sanford Cohn and daughter-in-law Pam Cohn; and grandsons Nathan and Ben Lynch. Mr. Cohn was a Veteran of World War II. Mr. Cohn grew up and worked the vast majority of his career as a structural engineer in St. Louis, MO. After retiring he and his wife moved to Port Orange, FL and were longtime residents there until recently moving to the Lake Mary area. He was also a long time member of Temple Beth-El in Ormond Beach, FL. He and his wife enjoyed golfing, square-dancing, traveling, going to Temple services regularly and volunteering for many organizations, most notably feeding the homeless at Halifax Urban Ministries.
A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2014 11:00 AM at Temple Beth-El, 579 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach, Florida 32174 . Additionally, on Thursday, January 9, 2014 1:00 PM a memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at Oakmonte Village, 1021 Royal Gardens Circle, Lake Mary, FL 32746.
