Obituary

Norbert Raymond Jacobs, 87, passed away on July 8, 2018. Jake, as he was known, was born in Dresden, KS. He was a graduate of Leoville High School in Leoville, KS. Jake was a U.S. Air Force veteran with 22 years of service. Following military retirement, he was employed with Melonville Nursing Home/ Lakeview Manor and Crank Construction.

Survived by former spouse, Mary Jacobs, and their children and spouses; Robert and Debbie Jacobs, Patricia and John Scherer, and Sandra McCann; grandchildren, Mitchell Jacobs and Amanda and Patrick Dall'Occhio; and great grandchildren, Logan and Madeline Dall'Occhio; brothers, Herman, Elmer, Gerald, and Paul Jacobs; sister, Alverda Moellering. Preceded in death by his father and mother, Raymond and Rose Ritter Jacobs; sisters, Lavita Ferron, Camilla McCoy, and Marcella Reitcheck; brother, Alvin Jacobs; and son, Norbert Raymond Jacobs, Jr.

Jake was also survived by his friend/companion, Nancy Shepherd, and her children; son, Timothy Shepherd; grandchildren, Jillian Shepherd, Timothy "Little Timmy" Shepherd, and Blake Hickson; and four great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her daughter, Jeanette Hickson.

Memorial services will be held at a later date at All Souls Historic Church. Internment immediately following at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Souls Historic Church.
