Noemy was born in Honduras on July 28, 1934, and raised in Costa Rica.
Married Pete Curras in Miami, Florida, and had five children Lucia, Noemy, Ana Maria, Carlos and Gabriela.
Moved to Puerto Rico in 1964 and her philanthropic work filled her life with joy.
Served for over 50 years as Eucharistic minister, and as an active member of her parish in various ministries, including the Baptism Ministry, Marriage Ministry, Ministry to the Sick and First communion in Puerto Rico, Ohio and Michigan.
Lead and formed numerous prayer groups during the charismatic awakening and the Marian Crusade “The family that prays together stays together”.
She was recognized at the Inspiration Awards in the category of philanthropy, for her numerous contributions to the community she served which included Co-founder of the muscular dystrophy Association, Member and Girl Scouts leader, Vice Consul of Honduras, President of the committee for the Honduras hurricane FiFi relief and served in the prison ministry for 16 years.
Formed and lead many spiritual retreats and became the spiritual director for both lay and religious.
In 2024 she received an apostolic blessing from the holy Father Francis.
She moved to Florida in 2020 to enjoy the company of her 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
She died on August 17, 2026, at the age of 92 years peacefully, surrounded by family in Naples, Florida
