Nicole Ashley Hubert was born August 23, 1988 in Brooklyn, New York, the second oldest child of Pamela Louise Rogers and Benjamin Van Hubert. Nicole has five siblings: Nina, Jasmine, Jay-Quan, Katlyn and Zendaya.
Nikki loved being with her siblings and talking to them every chance she got. When Nicole was 15 years old, she was diagnosed with childhood diabetes and spent a month in the hospital. She missed school but continued her studies in the hospital and at home. She went on to graduate and attended her Junior High School prom. She applied to Erasmus Hall High of Business in Brooklyn, NY and was accepted; however she did not graduate but went on to earn her GED. She eventually went to Culinary Art School, and she learned to cook and make beautiful dishes.
In her spare time Nicole loved to dance. She was great at it and always would be the life of the party wherever she went. She loved learning new routines--no matter how difficult the dance moves were. Nicole would always help during the holidays when it came to preparing big family meals and would dance while during so.
She was a sweetheart. She loved all her nieces and nephews with all her heart and when they would come over, she would give them the biggest hugs and shower them with kisses. And she loved buying them things because she wanted to. Nicole especially loved her mother Pamela, she spoiled her, and when the holidays came or on her birthday Nicole would shower her with gifts--extravagant ones.
Nicole's health took a drastic turn; she had her first heart surgery and went on to have a great recovery. Our heart warrior started taking better care of herself. Yet Nicole had more battles to fight. She would later find out she needed a second heart surgery and her kidneys were failing. But Nicole continued to win any battle that came her way, still smiling, still dancing and cooking her heart out.
On February 10, 2021, Nicole moved to Sanford, Florida to live with her sister Nina. She wanted change in her life, a slower pace and a stress-free lifestyle. Moving to Florida was a big decision. She said it was warm for her and she would work on being independent again. Nicole started saving her money so she could have her own place, but as soon as she would get comfy, she was back in the hospital. That didn't stop her from looking though, and even trying new foods. She was always ordering something and would say, "Sis, do you want to try?" And of course Sis did. Nicole would watch her niece Aryia even when she didn't feel well, and she would even go shopping by herself just to get out the house. Yet her health still was declining causing Nicole to come to terms that this was not the life she wanted to live. Yet she still fought. She would call her siblings and parents everyday no matter the time and be on the phone forever with them talking about everything.
Nicole went into the hospital for a routine stomach drain on October 15, 2021. On October 16, 2021 Nicole went into cardiac arrest, was resuscitated and placed on a ventilator. She fought so hard to come off of the ventilator, but her body would not allow her to breath on her own. She was alert and responding but every time they took her off the ventilator she struggled to breath on her own. Nicole went into cardiac arrest
again October 27, 2021 this time it took doctors 15 minutes to bring her
back. Sadly, her heart couldn't handle anymore and Nicole Ashley Hubert passed October 29, 2021 at 3:54 AM.
