Our loving Father, Nick Pusta, Jr, 91, passed away peacefully, late Wednesday evening, the 23rd of November, 2016 at Suncoast Hospice, Pinellas Park, FL. Dad was a real Yankee Doodle Dandy, born on the 4th of July, 1925 in Monaville, WV. He moved to St. Petersburg, FL in 1973 after residing in Monroe, CT for 20 years. He was a Combat Veteran of WWII in the Pacific Theater. Nick was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, who worked as a mechanical engineer throughout his career. He retired to Brooksville, FL for 19 years where he enjoyed hunting, shooting, watching Lawrence Welk on PBS and the local sports teams on TV with his loving wife of 61 years, Edith. Nick and Edith were very active in their church & choir before relocating back to St. Petersburg Beach in recent years. Edith passed away four years ago. Nick is survived by his three children Nick, Judy, Becky, his son-in-law Steve, grandchildren Stephen, Celeste, Krista, Erica and companion Joan Schuster. The family would like to thank Suncoast Hospice for all that they do.
Greetings all-
I'd like to thank each of you for your kind condolences and support since Dad passed away. My only wish is that he was still here to see the outpouring of love that continues to be showered upon our family.
Petersburg, Florida.
There will not be a church service per say. Dad and Mom chose to be cremated. We will have a Military Honors service for Dad at the Committal Shelter at Bay Pines National Cemetery located at 10000 Bay Pines Boulevard in St. Petersburg at 2:15 pm on December 28, 2016. After the ceremony, Dad's urn will be placed with Mom's in the Columbarium on site, and the ceremony will be concluded.
Immediately following the ceremony, the family would like to invite all guests to join us for a Celebration of Life for Big Nick. There will be plenty of food, beverages and libations as we celebrate our many good times together with him. Location to be announced following the service at Bay Pines.
It would also be Dad's wish and the family that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hospice of the Florida Suncoast or to the Alzheimer's Assocition
Best Regards-
Nick
