Nicholas Alexander Baslim's Obituary
Nicholas Alexander Baslim, 69, of Lake Mary, Florida passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
Nick was born on February 20, 1956, in Albuquerque, NM, the son of John Nicholas Govatos and Helen Kelsey "Sandy" Govatos and was the eldest of their three children.
Following his military father's footsteps, Nick joined the US Navy in the late 70s where he served as a diver. Nicholas attended Valencia College where he began his journey into healthcare; that later carried into a career as a paramedic.
In addition to his parents, Nicholas was preceded in death by his son Nolan Baslim.
He is survived by his daughter Honor Hannifin, sister, Deborah Govatos, brother, Christopher Govatos, and his longtime partner Bonny Beuret.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at DeGusipe Funeral Home and Crematory, 9001 N. Orlando Ave. Maitland, FL 32751 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM. A memorial service will begin at 1:00 PM with Chaplain Mike Caroline officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations to NAMI Greater Orlando would be greatly appreciated.
