Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend, Nhuong Tan Huynh of Vinh Long, Vietnam, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 20, 2021 at the age 86.

Nhuong was born on August 1, 1935 to father Luc Van Huynh and mother Nhanh Thi Nguyen. He is the fifth son of nine children.

He served in the Vietnamese Air Force before transitioning to civilian life as an airplane mechanic for Pan American Airways known as Pan Am. As an employee of Pan Am, he was able to travel abroad. He enjoyed his visits to various destinations before meeting his wife, Hong T. Nguyen, with whom he had seven children.

Pan Am provided an opportunity for their employees to move to the United States of America to escape communism before the fall of South Vietnam in 1975. Nhuong took the opportunity and moved his family to America. A picture of Nhuong and his family was featured in Newsweek Magazine in 1975.

Nhuong started a new life in Miami, Florida while working for Pan Am, and eventually for Eastern Airlines. He made sacrifices by working the night shift to be available for his children during the school hours. He worked hard to provide the best life for his family.

He retired and moved to Orlando in 1995. He enjoyed his retirement by spending time with his family including many of his grandchildren going shopping and eating at various restaurants. He will be fondly remembered for his sense of low-key humor, his classic timeless style, and his independent spirit.

Nhuong was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, his former wife, and his youngest son, Hau T. Huynh. He is survived by his children, Truc Huynh, Hung Huynh, Tuyet-Mai Moore, Dat Huynh, Thu-Thao Ayers, Phu Huynh, and Tristine Huynh, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
