Long-time Winter Park resident Nelrene Anne Pires Monaco, 77, passed away on August 15th from complications of Lewy Body Dementia.

Mrs. Monaco was born October 14, 1938 in Bermuda to Adeodato and Margaret Pires. She moved to the USA in 1956, and to Winter Park in 1968. Mrs. Monaco worked in retail sales for J.C. Penney for more than 20 years. She was a great lover of animals.

Mrs. Monaco is survived by her two sons, Michael Monaco (Nadine) of Herndon, VA, and Robert Monaco (Beth) of Orlando; and their Father, Rocco Monaco; her brother Stanley Pires of Saddlebrook, NJ; four grandchildren; two nephews and her dear neighbor and coffee buddy Denise Barma of Winter Park.

There will be a small service taking place at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, August 27th at the Columbarium in the Palm Cemetery where Nelrene Monaco will be interred. The cemetery is located at 1005 N. New York Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789. The entrance to the Columbarium is off of Webster Avenue (between New York Ave and Pennsylvania Ave).

The Monaco-Pires families invite all family and friends for a Celebration Bar-b-queue in honor of Nelrene. The Bar-b-que will take place from 12:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 27th at the home of Nelrene's longtime friend, Denise Barma of 2603 Verde Lane, Winter Park, FL 32792. The family asks that everyone dress "Bermuda Casual" to celebrate Nelrene's heritage.
