Nancy Burgess, 73, of Apopka, Florida passed away on September, 19, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Willis C. Burgess Sr. and Emma Price Wood. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on October 17, 1947.

Nancy was a graduate of East Carolina University. Most of her career was spent in the insurance industry. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, shopping, and visiting restaurants with friends. Nancy was always thoughtful of family and friends. She would always call them on their birthdays and send cards. Christmas was a favorite holiday of hers. She loved wrapping gifts and creating unique bows. Some of her favorite pastimes include going to casinos and visiting New Orleans.

Nancy leaves behind to cherish her memory, her brothers, Willis C. Burgess Jr. (Kay) of Louisburg, NC, Jimmy W. Burgess of Rocky Mount, NC. She is preceded by her sister, Patricia M. Grooms. Nancy had a dog earlier in life, Babs. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Charlotte Matthews, Daniel Joyner, Jonathan Burgess (Jessica), Josh Matthews, Brooke Rogers (Nick), Kelsey Burgess, Ashton Burgess, Zach Joyner, and Christian Burgess.
