Ms. Nancy Sue Bridge, age 71, passed peacefully in Deland, Florida, on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, after a long fight with Alzheimer's and dementia.
Nancy was born on December 20, 1949 in Franklin, WV. She lived in Virginia for many years, working as an accountant in various auto part stores in the Fairfax, Virginia area before becoming self-employed as a very successful accountant for over 20 years, during which time she relocated to Florida.
She was an incredibly caring and giving person who helped those in need, acting as a second mother to many people. She enjoyed frequenting yard sales, playing the slots in Atlantic City, Charlestown, West VA, and on casino cruise boats, and going to the beach whenever possible. She loved sports cars, especially her treasured yellow Corvette, warm weather, flea markets, her precious dogs, and she especially loved her family.
Survivors include her sister, Frankie, and her husband Corky Church, son, David and his wife Laura Bridge, daughter Cher and her husband Jon McClung, son Shane Bridge, as well as grandchildren Cory Rinker, Katelyn Stein, Collin Bridge, Kristy Morrison, Ari Bridge, Ayden McClung, and great-grandson Calvin Rinker. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Annabelle and Calvin Simmons, sister Carolyn Burkett, and grandson Joshua.
Nancy enjoyed life and had a heart of gold. She was a gentle, giving soul that would give you the shirt off her back. We will all miss her and the way that she cared so deeply for each of us.
A small, family service will be held Saturday, August 28th at Wilson Chapel Cemetery in West Virginia.
The family of Nancy Bridge requests that you do not send flowers, and instead invites you to leave a message of condolence on the Tribute Wall created in her memory. Donations can also be made in honor of Nancy at:
