Tindall, Dr. Monte B, 80, of Longwood Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 6 2016. Dr. Tindall was born December 1, 1935 at Florida Hospital and raised in Orlando, the only child of Maxwell & Marthelle Tindall. He graduated from Forest Lake Academy in Apopka in 1954, followed by pre-dental studies at Southern Missionary College (now Southern Adventist University) in Collegedale, TN. In 1960, he graduated from Emory University School of Dentistry and entered the United States Air Force, stationed at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS. He returned to Orlando and established a successful private dental practice from 1963-1969. Dr. Tindall was then selected for an Oral Surgery fellowship at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans. Upon completion, he accepted a position in Monroe, LA and enjoyed a long and distinguished career as an Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon. He retired in 2007 and moved back to the Orlando area.
As a life-long Seventh Day Adventist, Dr. Tindall, or Monte as he was known by his church family, was dedicated in his desire to bring families & generations together. Beginning in the 1960's, he planned social gatherings, prepared musical programs and encouraged sporting events as a way to keep youth involved. Monte married his high school sweetheart, Yvonne Castillo, in 1958 and they spent 57 beautiful years together. He was a devoted dad to daughters Tresa Tindall Bechard, of Apopka and Lori Tindall of Sacramento, CA. In later years, Monte fought bravely against the battle of Alzheimer's. In a final gracious gift to the medical research field, Monte applied to and donated his brain to the Brain Bank Research Program in Orlando, FL in hope that it will progress the research in the treatment against Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease.
To honor and remember Monte, a Celebration of Life service will be held May 22 at 2pm at Village on the Green in Longwood, Florida.
