Monica Schimanski's Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Monica Schimanski. Wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Monica, age 84, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Hospice Care Center after a long battle with cancer.
Monica was born October 31, 1937 in Guzy, Poland. Along with her father and brothers she traveled to the United States through Ellis Island to start a new life and eventually settle in Chicago, IL. Then in 1986 moved to sunny St. Petersburg, FL with husband Ray.
Monica leaves behind husband Raymond Katzbeck of 36 years, daughter Tammy and son in law John Schlapinski, and loving and devoted grandson Scott. She is also survived by sister in law Lennie Wojtach and nephew Tom Educate.
Monica will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was feisty, a tough cookie, but was also a generous and loving woman to those she loved.
Our family will receive friends at R. Lee Williams and Son Funeral Home Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 12PM to 2PM.
In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice will be accepted in honor of Monica Schimanski
