"A beautiful person has left us" - Migdalia Maisonet, was born April 16, 1948, in Ponce, Puerto Rico from Eleutario Hernandez Santiago & Rosalia Hernandez Borrero. She passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 after a arduous battle with Dementia. Migdalia was a committed, loving partner to Hector Lebron. They lived in their New York home and had many loving years together. Migdalia faced her death as she did her life, with strength, dignity, and courage.
Migdalia was a caring and supportive mother to her two children, William Maisonet Jr., (daughter in-law Monica Maisonet) and Thomas Anthony Lebron, (daughter in-law Monica Ann Muriel). She was blessed with six grandchildren- William Maisonet III, Thomas Alexander Lebron, Sydney Renee Maisonet, Shane William Maisonet, Selena Rose Maisonet, and Sunny Rose Maisonet and three step-grandchildren- Antonio Ramon Muriel, DeMaris Marie Ruiz, and Mariah Renee Ruiz.
Migdalia was devoted to her family especially to her three boys (as she called it.) She was a simple women with legendary dimples and a distinctive laughter that we all will remember. She was outgoing who always went with the flow and never complained about anything. Her biggest enjoyment was playing with her grandchildren, walking, swimming, listening to the oldies, and watching her turner classic movies. She was a die hard Elvis Presley fan and an Indiana Jones enthusiast. Migdalia retired after 39 years from Pioneer Transportation Corp. as a school bus matron in the Bronx, NY. She retired to Port Saint Lucie Florida in 2009 and has remained here. Migdalia moved to Altamonte Springs in 2010 to be close to her son Thomas and his wife Monica and their three children, Antonio, DeMaris, Mariah who cared and helped her throughout her final stages of dementia.
Those who knew Migdalia witnessed her loving, positive attitude, whether dealt a good hand or not. Her family, friends, even acquaintances, were blessed by her joyful, spunky spirit.
Funeral Services are under the direction of DeGusipe Funeral Home - 9001 N. Orlando Avenue, Maitland, FL. 32751. Family will receive friends and family for viewing on Saturday, February 27th from 5pm-9pm and Sunday, February 28th for final viewing and services from 9am-11:30am. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Garden from 12:30pm-1:30pm, located at 3329 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka, FL. 32703. Please join the Lebron/Maisonet family for a gathering to be held at the Longwood Civic Center, 200 W. Warren Avenue, Longwood, FL. 32750 from 2pm-6pm in memory of Migdalia Maisonet.
