Michael Lee Swift (52), aka "Big Mike", "Swifty", "Mikie", and "Gentle Giant Mike" died Friday December 16, 2016 at 13:50 after a long and painful illness. Gentle Mike always had a smile on his face for all with whom he came into contact. He was a friend to everyone and willing to help others where he could. He saw the best in each person he met. Mike retired after 28 years as a correctional officer (CO) from the Orange County Corrections, where he treated both CO's and inmates with the respect due to them.
Mike was a devoted father, loving son, avid golfer, paintball player, chivalrous man, and considerate and proficient CO. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Crownover Swift (79), his sons William Tyler Swift (23), Kevin Vincent Swift (19), sister Sheryll Swift Pickett (59) and brother in law Bill Pickett(59).
Mike, you will never be forgotten, as you and your legacy will live in our hearts forever.
