Obituary

Michael Rodrigues, 72, of Sanford, Florida passed away August 12, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. Michael was born in Fall River, Massachusetts on March 21, 1949 to Frank and Adeline Rodrigues.

He graduated from Durfee High School in Fall River and then like his father, joined the Navy. Upon his return from service he earned an associates degree and with his wife, Margaret they raised their two children in Tiverton, Rhode Island where he was an active member of the community.

Michael especially enjoyed giving his time, teaching sports and values to the youth of the community where he actively coached and instructed for over a decade at the entry levels making sure the kids all participated and had fun. Michael was a lifelong sports fan. He loved his New England sport teams.

After leaving Rhode Island he spent his final three plus decades living in Central Florida. His journey took him from owning and running a landscape company to working in sales as he enjoyed helping people.

Michael continued till the end to be a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. His granddaughter Maggie Michaela was his pride and joy, he actively supported Crooms High School, Sanford bowling team where Maggie participated in the schools first district championships.

Michael had a great love for his entire family including many nieces and nephews of whom he was very proud - proud to call Mary, Anne and Pat his sisters and Americo and Mary Moniz Mom and Dad.

Michael was a member of All Souls Catholic Church, Sanford, and Inurnment will be held at All Souls Catholic Cemetery, Sanford.

He is survived by his wife Margaret (Moniz) Rodrigues, his son David Rodrigues, his daughter Tracy Rodrigues Adams (her husband Charles Adams), his granddaughter Maggie Adams and his brothers Frank and Steven Rodrigues.
