Michael C. Larro, age 70, formerly of Benton Harbor, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022 after a long, hard fought battle with heart disease. Mick was born on October 3, 1951 in Westfield, Massachusetts to Charles Henry Larro and H. Alice (Eddy) Larro.
In 1959, the family relocated to Benton Harbor, Michigan, where he graduated from BHHS in 1969 and went to work for Michigan Standard Alloys Aluminum Division as a Lab Technician. When the plant closed, Mick moved to Louisville, Kentucky, where he continued to work in the recycling business. More importantly, he met the love of his life, Brenda Darlene Ward, and they were married on January 31, 1981.
He had a talent for sales and with his background in chemical labs and metallurgy, he found opportunities in the plating industry and chemical sales. This took him to Orlando, Woodstock, Ga and finally to Longwood, Fl. His favorite client was Walt Disney World, where he helped them maintain their many water features. He served as an elder at St Mark's Presbyterian Church, played Santa for several years and was the Scoutmaster for their Boy Scout Troop number 237 where their son Gregory attained the rank of Eagle Scout; a source of great pride for Mick.
Mick was preceded in death by his parents and he is survived by his wife, Brenda and his son, Gregory Larro, his brother, Ron (Carol) Larro-Suwanee, Ga, his sisters: Kathleen (Robert) Baldo, Orlando, Fl, Corrine (Bill) Duncan, Murphy, NC and Tamara (Barry) Little, Deltona, FL and a very dear friend, Teresa (Farris) Enos, who was regarded by Mick as his daughter and whose children he regarded as his grandchildren as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Celebration of Life to be at a future date, yet to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Heart Association (heart.org) appreciated.
The family of Michael C. Larro invites you to leave a message of condolence on the Tribute Wall created in his memory.
