Obituary

Michael (Mike) J. Monahan passed away at his home at the age of 68, surrounded by love. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Mike lived a life grounded in faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, compassion, and unwavering dedication to others.

Born to the late Michael and Lorraine Monahan, Mike was a man who led with his heart. He found the love of his life in his wife, Asli, with whom he shared a deep and joyful bond. Together, they built a life full of love, family, and purpose.

Mike was a devoted father to his son Michael and his wife Anne, and an adoring grandfather to Emerson and Owen, all of Londonderry, NH. His greatest joy came from being with his family—whether sharing stories, offering wisdom, or simply enjoying time together.

He is also survived by his sister Debbie and her husband John of Reading, MA, and his brother Brian and his wife Jean. Mike was a beloved uncle to Brian and his wife Maura and their children Maeve and Tighe of Boston, MA; Patrick and his wife Ashleigh of Londonderry, NH; and Matthew of Londonderry, NH. He cherished every moment spent with his extended family.

Mike's love and respect extended across continents to his in-laws: Hayrettin and Hilkat Karagoz, and his brother-in-law Bahadir and his wife Funda Karagoz of Turkey. He also held a special place in his heart for his niece Ece Erten of Manhattan, New York.

Faith and service were cornerstones of Mike's life. He was an active member of Saint Peter's Episcopal Church in Lake Mary, Florida, where he gave generously of his time and spirit. He delivered food, clothing, and supplies to the homeless and volunteered with Grace and Grits, feeding those facing food insecurity in the community.

Mike also served as treasurer and a committed volunteer for Mountain of Hope humanitarian Christian ministry delivering relief and hope to the people of Honduras. His selfless service brought light and comfort to many lives.
