Obituary

Michael "Mike" E. Deal, 60, of Sanford, FL passed away peacefully May 21, 2023, at the Inpatient Unit of AdventHealth Hospice, Altamonte Springs, FL.
Born March 30, 1963, in Meyersdale PA, he was the son of the late Paul D. Deal and Carol (Briskey) Deal and preceded in death by his grandparents Clarence Deal and Myrtle (Meese) Deal and Alton Briskey and Grace (Miller) Briskey, uncles Darrel Deal, Delmas Deal, Terry Deal, Bob Briskey, Jim Briskey, Don Briskey and aunts Emma Briskey and Betty Briskey. Also, dogs Robin and Scooby Doo.
Mike is survived by his wife of 33 years, Karen Sue (Hurd) Deal, Sanford, FL and furry companion Casey. Aunts Ruth Scheffel (John), Braddock Heights, MD, Alice Deal, Meyersdale, PA, Linda Deal, Meyersdale, PA, Ardith Deal, Salisbury, PA and Ada Briskey, Meyersdale, PA, and Sisters-In-Law Patricia L. Bryant (the late Richard Bryant), Sunrise, FL, and Linda K. Gill (Greg), Mount Dora, FL.
He is also survived by 12 cousins, 2 nieces and 1 nephew and extended family.
Mike graduated in 1981 from Salisbury-Elk Lick High School, Salisbury, PA. Went on to received BS & MBA. Earned his CMA and CBM.
Mike started at Citizen Bank, Meyersdale, PA. then onto Bechtel Corporation, Bechtel Equipment Operations (BEO), LG&E and Washington Gas as an Accountant. Was a past Adjunct Professor at GCU & IUS.
He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Parish where he grew up in the Greenville Evangelical Lutheran Church and later attended services at St. John's Lutheran Church, Salisbury, PA. A past member of the Salisbury PA Lions Club and the IMA.
Friends will be received at the Greenville Lutheran Church, 2706 Greenville Rd., Salisbury, PA Funeral services will follow in the church at with Rev. Tyler Graham officiating. Interment will be in the Greenville Cemetery. Details to follow when services are scheduled.
Expression of sympathy may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church, 104 Union Street, Salisbury, PA 15558 and National Cancer Institute (NCI) for anaplastic meningioma research.
