Obituary

Michael Austin Balkcom - 05/08/1970 to 05/14/2015
We were so blessed for God to let us have Michael for the short time He did. He brought a lot of joy and happiness into our lives. He loved family, holidays, friends, music, sports and trivia. As a member of the chess club, he could sit for hours playing chess. He had a big, forgiving heart, and loved everyone. If he could help you in any way he would. Our hearts are aching for our loss, but we know he's in a better place, and we'll see him soon.
I love you Michael,
Mama
Dear Baby Brother,
I can still remember when you were born and came home from the hospital with mom. I said to myself, I finally have a baby brother-one to help guide, share with, laugh and cry with, watch over and protect as we grow up together.
Though our differences were there, our bond was strong and nothing could ever come between us when it came to being brothers. Your love for family was matchless and unconditional. I could always count on you in life because you had a huge heart. You were always supportive regardless, without surrender. You were always ready to give your last dollar at any given moment and lend an ear when I needed someone to talk to. When family needed you, you were always there.
You taught me how to care when those around you don't, and you never gave up on family and friends no matter how much they can hurt. I can truly say without a doubt, you were heaven sent by God and a brother beyond compare.
Now that you are gone from me I can say with a broken heart that I will miss you deeply, and I know deep within my spirit and soul, I will see you again. You cannot come back to me, but with the GRACE of God, I will come to you. You are now with God, who will forever love you more, but where you are, I will be-SOON!
I thank God for you and what you have meant to me. In life you were better than a best friend, and in memory forever my baby brother.
With unending and endearing love,
Big Brother
Hebrews 12:1-Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
John 15:13- Greater love had no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
