Melvin H Rosenthal, 90, formerly of Miami, Florida, passed away at home on Wednesday, February 8th, 2017.
Mel was born in Massachusetts where he went to Pharmacy School and transferred and graduated from the School of Pharmacy in Gainesville, Florida in 1952. Mel was a Pharmacist in Miami, Florida until he retired at 86 years old and moved to Clearwater, Florida to be near family.
He enjoyed driving, riding his motorcycle, playing cards, reading about current events in the world, food and most of all - being with his family and his dog, Lady.
Mel is survived by his wife of 61 years, Arlene Ura Rosenthal; daughter Robyn Melton (Robert) of Covington, Georgia; daughter Dr. Marcy Smurthwaite (Robert) of Clearwater, Florida; daughter Nancy Rosenthal, and his granddaughter Nicki Bennett, of St. Petersburg, Florida, formerly from Atlanta.
Mel was an avid animal lover. Due to the love his rescue dog brought to him and the family, we ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the pet rescue of your choice.
