Melvin "Mel" Larue McCall

Melvin "Mel" Larue McCall, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

Mel is remembered for his southern hospitality and charm. He was a proud and successful owner of many businesses due to his ingenuity and desire to succeed. He never knew a stranger and always helped those in need. He had a love for dogs, race cars, boating, and the Florida Gators. His happy places were river life on the St. Johns and St. Augustine Beach.

Surviving are his daughters, Pam Wichlei, Debbie Yachabach, and Renee (Dan) Pettit. In addition he is survived by his nephew, Richard Pendley, and niece Teri Pendley Witty, along with his seven grandchildren (one preceding his death) and many cousins.

A service will be held on Saturday, April 6th at 10:00 am at Vitality of Lake Forest Assisted Living Facility (chapel). In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Humane Society in Mel's name.
