CAMPBELL, MAURICE RAY, 85, of Altamonte Springs, FL, died March 17, 2014, at the Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs. Born in Powder Mills, Hart County, KY, on April 9, 1928, he grew up in the Louisville area, and after a brief stint in the U. S. Navy, he worked in factories and as a cab driver.
In 1965, he moved his family to Hinsdale, IL, where he worked at Hinsdale Hospital and rose to be Supervisor of Communications. He retired to Altamonte Springs in 1995, bought a camper, and he and his wife June traveled the U. S., when they weren't volunteering at the Forest Lake Seventh-day Adventist church, or involved with the family.
Ray is survived by his loving wife June (Harris)of 68 years and his brother Don (Frances) Campbell of Pewee Valley, KY, his three children: Linda Patrick (Steve) of Apopka, FL, Larry (Donna) Campbell of Springfield, TN, and Jerry (Sherri) Campbell of Deltona, FL, four grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Per his wishes he was cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Comforter. A memorial service will be held at the Forest Lake Seventh-day Adventist church in Forest City, Thursday at 3:00 p.m.
