Obituary

Maureen Eleanor Hill departed this life on August 7, 2020, at the age of 73.

Maureen was born to Henry and Elsie Hill on December 21, 1946, in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. In 1979, she migrated to Brooklyn, NY and in 2003 she relocated to Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Maureen was a Home Care Aide for the last 16 years and enjoyed working with her clients (on her terms of course).

Maureen was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Elsie, and her nephew Tekron. She is survived by her two daughters Nicole and Alia; her three grandchildren, Shanae (Shana), Gabriel and Jadon; her great-grandchildren, Chloe, Tristan, Ashton, and Kairo; her four brothers, Lawrence, David, Randy, and Neil; her three sisters, Laraine, Angela and Veronica (Ronnie); her nephews and nieces, Monique, Michelle, Nigel, Maurice, Stacy, Tekela, Rhonika, Natasha, Onika (Nikki), Alana, Lyndon, Marcus, Tresa, Jarret, Shaquille, Jamiah and Kenya; and a host of cousins and great-nieces and nephews.

She was a very feisty and independent woman and loved life, cooking, and shopping from her many catalogs. She spoke whatever was on her mind and did everything her way but make no mistake she showed love in a very unconventional way. Her favorite words to say were: "This is who I am and ah not changing for nobody". This was who she was until the end.

She was a giver, her act of love were to give gifts and that came in the form of cooking for you or purchasing some little trinket. She was a proud Trinidadian and loved carnival and her Steelband Amoco Renegades. She will be missed by her many friends and family.
