Matthew Alan Crews, age 35, of Sanford, FL, previously from and raised in Altamonte Springs, FL, born in Orlando, FL on January 21, 1984, passed away in Sanford, FL unexpectedly on Good Friday, April 19, 2019.

Matt leaves behind his beloved father and mother, James A. Crews and Denise G. Lanxton; Step-Mother, Robbie L. Crews; Grandmother, Elizabeth E. Greear; Sister, Brittany N. Crews; Aunt, Gloria A. Richards; Uncle, James G. Greear, three beautiful nieces whom he loved dearly, and numerous other Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

He is preceded in death by his Step-Father, Randy L. Lanxton; Grandparents, Hubert D. Greear, William Crews, and Mary B. Crews.

Matthew graduated and received his diploma from Lake Brantley High School on May 23, 2002 and furthered his college education through Seminole State College.

His lifetime interests and devotions included but, were not limited to: "the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost", knowing and understanding the Bible, family and friends, animals, baseball, playing guitar, bowling, science, the arts, theme parks, and DC comics.

He had an honest, generous, and kind soul with an enormous heart whose immediate family meant the world to him. He never took his family for granted and always made sure he acknowledged his sincere gratefulness and love for his family. You could always count on him being there for any family events, needs, or holidays.

Matt's primary life goal was to love and care about people in the deepest and purest way. He was an extraordinary selfless person who was constantly and consistently generous in spirit, who gave back as much as possible, and helped as many people as he could along the way, while self-sacrificing for himself.

In the Bible, God speaks often of the poor and needy. He commands us to give generously to them and to speak up on their behalf. Matt lived and devoted his life to successfully fulfilling the Lord's requests below and many more.

Hebrews 6:10 (NIV) – "God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them."
Hebrews 13:16 (NIV) – "…and do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased."
John 15:12 (NIV) – "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you."
Matthew 5:16 (NIV) – "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5:42 (NIV) – "Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you."
Proverbs 19:17 (NIV) – "Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done."
Proverbs 22:9 (NIV) – "The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor."
Romans 12:13 (NIV) – "Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practice hospitality."

Without a doubt, Matt's good deeds on earth will be celebrated and greatly rewarded with honor in Heaven! It's no wonder that Jesus called him home on "Good Friday"!

Matt previously indicated that when his time came, he would claim victory and be excited to meet the Lord. He also mentioned he knew his family would be in great sadness but reminded us not to be sad for him because he knew the good things that Jesus had promised waiting for him in Heaven.

Although we are all deeply saddened over the loss of Matt, it is with great comfort that he knew Jesus and was excited about the day he would walk through the gates of Heaven.
