I am sorry to announce the passing of our mother Mary Spratley (née Padilla).
She was born in NYC, to Castro Padilla Arroyo and Aurea Sosa Padilla. She then lived in Puerto Rico from age 1 until she was 14, when her family moved back to NYC. She was called Nancy by all her relatives and friends.
She loved dancing and went to school and neighborhood dances with her brothers, sisters, cousins, and friends.
In 1954 she married Robert (Bob) Spratley. They had three children Gail, Robert (Bob), and Kenneth (Ken). She had two grandchildren, Jake and Kyle, and several grand dogs.
She loved hosting big family get togethers, especially for Christmas. She was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed baking and made cakes, pies, and prodigious amounts of several types of Christmas cookies every year.
She loved to take long car trips around the United States with her husband and children during the summers.
In 1982 she moved to Orlando with her husband, Bob, and youngest son, Ken.
She became a member of Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, where she made many friends.
She passed away peacefully with her three children around her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and her five siblings, Rosa, an infant sister, Selena, Casto, and George. She is survived by her children, Gail (Bob), Robert (Migdalia), and Kenneth (Susan), and her two grandchildren, Jake and Kyle.
