Mary Yvonne Overstreet, 81, of Orlando, Florida, died on Wednesday, March 1, 2017. She died at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs, Florida, with her daughter at her side. Yvonne was born September 24, 1935 in Miami, FL, the youngest of four children.
She married her husband, Clyde in 1958. The two enjoyed 40 years of a loving and committed marriage raising their only child, Susanna.
Yvonne loved baking, crafting, and traveling. She enjoyed frequent visits to Islamorada in the Florida Keys. During their travels together, Yvonne and Clyde visited Jamaica, several countries in Europe, and Saudi Arabia. Anyone who had Yvonne as a friend knew they had a friend for life. While in Saudi Arabia, she forged lifetime friendships with John McWilliams and Isabelle King and many others .
Yvonne graduated from UCF with a Liberal Arts degree, and enjoyed substitute teaching and tutoring.
She is preceded in death by her husband Clyde, her brothers Conrad and John, her sister Alice, and son-in-law, Douglas.
Surviving family members are her daughter Susanna Brosonski, nephew Chris Christensen (Enrica), sisters-in-law Arlene Smith, Virginia Crisp, Helen Davenport, Bobbi Brotherton and brother-in-law Grady Overstreet.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 11th at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1603 N. Thacker Ave, Kissimmee, FL.
