On Saturday, 22 January 2022, the Lord called home his child, Mary Ann Maldonado. Mary came into this world, 5 November 1958. She was a wonderful daughter, a patient sister, a loving mother and most of all, compassionate friend.
Mary was born and raised in NYC to Pablo and Julia and was the oldest of three. She was a brilliant, honor student, lover of languages, an excellent role model for her two younger siblings, Cynthia, and Paul. In 1980, she became a mother for the first time and had a son, Alexander. She went on to give birth to her other children, her only daughter, Katherine, in 1981 and her baby son, Christopher, in 1983. She became an aunt for the first time in 1991, when Cynthia brought her daughter, Gabrielle, into the world. Her brother, Paul, helped bring his daughters into the world, Lauren in 1992 and Samantha in 1994, and Mary was a proud aunt again.
She worked her way to the top of her profession while working for Miami-Dade County and helped launch a new department within the county. In 2001, Mary became a grandmother for the first time, when Katherine gave birth to Elisa. Elisa became her pride and joy and the two had a very close relationship. Mary became a grandmother again in 2002, when Alex had Alexis. Mary's heart jumped with joy when she laid eyes on Sashee. In 2004, she gained another granddaughter, when Tatiana was born to Alex. She was incredibly proud of her third granddaughter. In 2005, she saw two more grandchildren, when Christopher had Veronica in September and her first grandson, Joseph, in October from Alex. Mary was simply in love with Ronnie and called Joey her handsome boy. In 2009, Mary became a grandmother again, when Alex had Natasha. Mary loved her little Peanut.
In 2012, after Christopher met his love, Mary gained another granddaughter, Adriana. Mary thought Dri Dri was an amazing young lady. Finally, 2016, Mary became a grandmother one last time, when Chris had Cristina. Mary was overjoyed whenever Cristina was around. Mary was a beautiful soul who never had a no for anyone. Her loyalty knew no bounds and was the greatest confidant. She was the mother that all the friends of her kids wanted to hang out with. She was loved and will be missed.
Mary is survived by her sister, Cindy, and her daughter, Gabrielle, her brother, Paul and his daughters, Christina, Shannon, Lauren and Sammy and Christina and her son, Adonis, Shannon's sons, Adrian and Anthony, and Sammy's kids Aaliyah and Gino, her oldest son, Alex, and his wife, Theresa, and their four kids, Sashee, Tatiana, Joey, and Peanut, her daughter, Kat and her daughter, Elisa, and by her youngest son, Chris and his wife, Yolanda, and their daughters, Ronnie, Dri Dri, and Cristina.
Psalm 23
1The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
