Obituary

MARY ADAH MALAVOLTI, OF Naples, FL, passed away on June 30, 2017 in Lake Mary, FL at the age of 56.

Visitation will be held at DeGusipe Funeral Home and Crematory, 9001 N. Orlando Ave., Maitland, FL on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., followed with funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church, 1020 Montgomery Rd., Altamonte Springs, FL.

McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan, IL, will handle the Rite of Committal, which will occur at 11:00 a.m. at St. Isidore Cemetery, 364 County Road 2000 N., Bethany, IL. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at nearby St. Isidore Catholic Church. Her brother, Fr. Nathan L. Malavolti, TOR will officiate at these services.

Mary Adah was born in Decatur, IL, to Nello and Virginia Malavolti on December 24, 1960. She graduated from Blue Mound High School and then Millikin University with a B.A. in English. She proceeded to obtain a M.A. in English Literature from the University of Illinois and later a M.A. in Theology from the Franciscan University of Steubenville. Mary worked at the University of Michigan Law Library in Ann Arbor, MI, Antonian High School in San Antonio, TX, Ave Maria College in Ypsilanti, MI, Ave Maria Radio in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the John Paul II Institute in Washington, DC, and lastly at the Ave Maria School of Law Library in Naples, FL. She was gifted artistically and musically, as she loved to play the piano and had a beautiful soprano voice which she loved to use to praise God. She was well-read, with Shakespeare and Tolkien as some of her favorites. She was a person of strong faith convictions who was passionate about others coming to know the love of Christ and believing in the power of miracles.

Mary Adah is survived by her sister Veronica Thomas, her brother and sister-in-law Dr. Timothy and Bonnie Malavolti, her brother Fr. Nathan Malavolti, TOR, as well as her nieces Nicole Jensen and Zoe Malavolti and nephews Alan Malavolti and Zachary Malavolti, and other family members and friends.

Mary Adah is preceded in death by her father and mother, Nello and Virginia Malavolti, and her brother Mark Malavolti.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Ave Maria School of Law in Naples, FL, and Franciscan University of Steubenville in Steubenville, OH. The family of Mary Adah Malavolti wishes to thank Vitas Hospice for their compassionate and professional care of Mary Adah in her final days.
