Mary Teresa Leadon of Winter Park, Florida passed away on May 26, 2017, after a short illness. She was 66. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she grew up in Rosemount, MN, San Diego, CA and Gainesville, FL, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida. For many years she was a licensed real estate appraiser with the Orlando firm Clayton, Roper & Marshall. She was a longtime member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church of Winter Park. The third eldest of ten children and a loving aunt and cousin, Mary delighted in her extended family, and was instrumental in raising her many younger siblings. She was courageous in the face of numerous illnesses over many years, inspiring her family and friends through her devotion and strength. She was a prolific painter of Florida landscapes in oil and watercolor, and an expert at local history and geography who relished new places and gems of local architecture.
Mary is survived by six brothers, Bernie Leadon and Tom Leadon, both of Nashville, Mark Leadon of Baton Rouge, Mike Leadon of Gainesville, Christopher of San Diego, and Fran Leadon of Brooklyn, and three sisters, Monica Cooper of Gainesville, Margaret Greenwald of Canton, Michigan, and Catherine Morneault of Guilford, Connecticut, plus eleven nieces and nephews and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. She was pre-deceased by her father Dr. Bernard M. Leadon and Ann Sweetser Leadon of Gainesville.
