Judy-Denton, Mary Eleanor
Born in Lewistown, Ohio on March 16,1921, to Jay and Anna Renick, Mary was raised on a farm with her older sister Dorothy and her little brother Jay Robert. She graduated from White Cross College in Columbus, Ohio with her Bachelor of Science degree and as a Registered Nurse, On January 21, 1945 she married Donald Edward Judy, a marriage that would last 63 years! Don and Mary's greatest accomplishment and joy was their family which started with 5 children, Edward, Edwin, Jay, Robyn and David and has grown to include 15 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren!
Don and Mary moved to St. Petersburg in 1955. Don worked for Florida Power Corp for 30 years as a corporate representative to institutions encouraging them to use electric versus gas appliances in their kitchens. He was well known for his cooking but even more loved for the way he filled a room with laughter! Mary worked as an industrial nurse for over 25 years at ECI (Electronic Communications Inc.) which was later known as E-Systems and Raytheon. She was well respected for her integrity and work ethic!
Other than their family, Don and Mary were devoted to their church, Northside Baptist. They were active members and were specifically blessed by the friends and programs in the Golden Heirs group!
After the loss of Don it was at Golden Heirs that Mary met Theodore Edward Denton. They were married on October 14, 2010 at Northside Baptist. Along with the great love of Ted, Mary also experienced the love of his sister, his son and his granddaughter, Michelle and her family!
Due to failing health, Mary and Ted moved into Allegro Assisted Living, which Mary referred to as her new "house". On August 8, 2014, Mary took a nap from which she did not awaken on this earth. She peacefully went into the arms of her Lord!
The most important thing you need to know about Mary Eleanor Judy-Denton is that she lived her life with an unwavering commitment to two great loves. She loved her Lord Jesus and she loved her family. She leaves a legacy of love. She is missed.
The family will receive friends at R. Lee Williams Funeral Home on Saturday, August 16 at 2PM. The service will begin at 3PM and the interment will be later at Bay Pines National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice or to Northside Baptist Church- Golden Heirs.
