Mary Barbara Barnett died peacefully after a short illness on Monday morning Jan 10, 2022, in Sanford, Florida. She was 84 years old. Barbara was born in Bethesda, Maryland on May 6, 1937 to Glen and Vivian Bode. She is survived by her sister Jeannette Dunstan; brother Ronnie Bode; son Thomas Harwood and wife Mary Sue Bracken of Virginia; son Guy Harwood and wife Sandy of North Carolina; son Kenneth Harwood and wife Liz of Florida; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Barbara received her RN degree at Daytona State in 1968. She worked as a nurse practitioner, ob-gyn nurse, Lamaze coach, perinatal nurse, and Red Cross disaster response nurse. She enjoyed reading, traveling - often internationally, charitable activities and especially church. Barbara was a very dedicated and devoted Catholic, ever faithful to her local parish.

A prayer vigil and rosary will be held on Thursday, Jan 20 from 6-8pm at DeGuspie Funeral Home, 905 Laurel Avenue, Sanford, FL 32771. A Requiem Mass will be held at 11am on Friday, Jan 21 at St Thomas More Church, 500 Riverview Avenue, Sanford FL 32771. Interment will take place on Monday, Jan 24 at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery for immediate family.
