Mary Ann (Homan) Kessler, age 85, passed away on February 23, 2022 in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Mary Ann was born on March 4, 1936 in Chester, Pennsylvania, to Suzanne (Seebold) and James Homan.
After graduating from Notre Dame High School in Moylan, PA, Mary Ann went on to earn a secretarial degree from Peirce College in Philadelphia. She then went to work at the Sun Oil main office in Center City Philadelphia. She loved working in Center City Philadelphia!
Mary Ann became the best woman bowler in Delaware County, PA, competing in many tournaments and performing very well. She met and married her husband, Ned, through bowling, and over the years she became a mother of five children.
After moving to the Orlando area in1982, Mary Ann was employed by Sun Trust Bank, then the investment firm of DePrince, Race, and Zollo. Later, she became the Music Secretary at St. James Catholic Cathedral for over ten years before finally retiring.
Mary Ann was an avid sports fan, especially her beloved Philadelphia Flyers. She and Ned had front row season tickets for many years, even a few years after moving to Orlando.
Mary Ann cherished her grandchildren, all ten of them; she attended almost all of their games: swim meets, basketball, volleyball, softball, and the like, rooting for them to succeed!
Mary Ann was an excellent knitter; she fashioned many sweaters, blankets, caps, and the like, and enjoyed doing it for others. She also enjoyed solving puzzles of all kinds.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 60 years, Edward (Ned) Kessler, Jr., her children, Lynda Netzer (William), Tom Kessler, Barbara Bahng (Michael), Mary Dobson, and Jean Cummins (Joel), as well as 10 grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Jane McClellan, Susan Duffy, and 5 nieces and 3 nephews.
