Obituary

Mary Katherine (Murray) German, age 91, passed on March 5. She was born in Lawrence, MA and lived in East Patchogue, Long Island, NY and retired to St. Petersburg, FL in 1984. Married in 1946 to Frank K. German (deceased 1996) of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church. Mary attended 3 years of college after which she was employed by the FBI in Washington, DC for 2 years before joining the W.A.C. assigned to the 1st Air Force headquarters at Mitchel Field, NY. She was employed at Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton, NY for 25 years. She was a past president and honorary member of the Patchogue, NY Columbiettes, an honorary member of the Supreme Council Columbiettes, honorary member of the Left Allamanders Square Dance Club, St. Petersburg, FL, past president and active member of Transfiguration Catholic Church Women�s Guild, lector and Eucharistic Minister to the homebound, volunteer Church office chaplain WACVA Chapter #69 Bay Pines. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in St. Petersburg for 17 � years, Patron OTHERS Morning Star School and Central Catholic High School (FL), McGann Mercy High School (NY) and Norte Dame High School (MA). Mary and Frank had four children: John of Brookhaven, NY, Robert deceased in 1998, Gerard (and his wife Martha) of Medford, NY, Jane (and her husband David Danner) of St. Petersburg, FL. She has four grandchildren: John, Suzanne, Melissa, Richard, and four great grandchildren: Rylee, Emerson, Brady, Allison. Mary read extensively, loved dancing and was an avid TB Rays fan. She will be cremated and a Memorial Mass will be held at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 4000 43rd Street North, St. Petersburg, FL on Thursday, March 13 at 11:00 AM.
