Marvin Ross Tolley passed away, peacefully, on May 17th from a terminal illness. He was born in Tazewell, Virginia in 1937, grew up in Anawalt, West Virginia, and attended Gary High School. After graduating from high school, Marvin served his country in the United States Army Security Agency. Marvin built a successful career at the Chinet Company, serving as the area manager for North Carolina, South Carolina, and East Tennessee. In 1988, he was transferred within Chinet to Florida as the Area Manager for the state until his retirement in 1999.
Marvin, affectionately known as Grandpa and Papa for the better part of the last 30 years, was a loving husband to his wife, Joanne, a loving father to their blended family, and the best grandfather and great grandfather to a bunch of young ones, some of whom aren't so young anymore.
Marvin spent the early years of his retirement traversing nearly all 50 states with Joanne in their beautiful motor home, making a plethora of friends, memories, and cherished trips with family. As life slowed down, Marvin settled into life in Winter Springs, FL, cheering on his many grandkids and kids, enjoying watching their lives unfold, and the blessings with which Joanne filled his days.
Marvin, Dad, Grandpa, Papa, neighbor, friend, regardless of how you knew him, one thing was consistent, his heart, and the love he gave to the world around him. Outspoken, funny, and filled with crazy memories and stories, he always led with love and wisdom, gave selflessly to those around him, and will forever be remembered in our hearts.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Joanne Tolley, daughter Donna Corriher and grandson Travis, daughter Sandra Verley and grandsons Daniel, Matthew and Vincent(Tiffany), daughter Kathy Paschal(Keith), grandson Alexander, granddaughter Jessica, and great grandchild Isaac, daughter Carolyn Holley(Phillip), grandson Tommy , granddaughters Brittney(Austin) and Brianna, son Paul Wood(Kathy), granddaughters Courtney and Shaye, daughter Linda Ebersole(Taylor) and grandsons Mason and Hilton(Autumn) and great granddaughter Hazel, his brother Arnold Douglas Tolley, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
