It is with deepest sympathy that we announce the passing of Marvin R Mertens. He went to be with the Lord on September 30th, 2024, in Orlando, Florida, at the age of 82. Marvin was a man of Faith, and an inspiration. His love of his wife, children and all his family were felt. We will all be left with cherished memories of the times we shared with Marvin.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Beverly Mertens, sons: Lynn Mertens and his wife, Lorie and Tony Mertens, daughter Tammy Mertens, stepdaughters: Beth Gardner and Amy Heaton, stepsons; Doug Heaton, and his wife Christine, Roger Heaton, and his wife Meg, sister, Lola Scott, brothers: Harlan Mertens, Bernell Mertens and Royce Mertens. Marvin has 20 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and even great great grandchildren. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Minnie Wagner and Henry Mertens, his brothers: Alfred Mertens, Marlo Mertens, and Wendell Mertens, sisters; Lois Dowdle, Katherine Vejar, Maxine Manny, Geraldine Mertens, Leona Liggett.

Marvin was a painter by trade and by passion, He proudly worked on Disney property for over 20 years and donated his time to many churches throughout the years applying his craft as needed.

The viewing will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 7, 2024, with service beginning at 1:30 PM to be held at Victory Baptist Church located at 1601 A D Mims Road, Ocoee FL 34761, with a reception to follow at the church. Graveside will be at Glenn Haven Memorial Park located at 2300 Temple Drive, Winter Park, FL 32789. The service will be officiated by their Reverend Sam McFarland. All are welcome to attend services for Marvin. Flowers and condolences may be sent to the church.
