Martha Marie Mathews, nee Knight, was the last surviving of eight siblings of Gilbert Knight and his wife Dovie, nee Rutherford. She passed at her home in Sorrento, Florida. She was 93.

She married John J. Mathews, Sr. in 1943. She and John (deceased in 2008) who was in the US Air Force, lived in seven states and Japan.

In addition to sons John Jr., of Deltona, FL, and Danny of Sorrento FL, she is survived by her grandson Dylan of Eustis, FL, great grandsons Eric, also of Eustis, and Ryan who is on active duty with the US Marine Corps, and great granddaughter Abigail, of Eustis.

Martha was an animal lover and had a green thumb. There are a lot of Cedars, Magnolias, and Citrus trees growing today that she planted.

Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at 10:00am at Ponceannah Cemetery, Altoona, FL 32702.
