MARLIN HARVEY LARGE
JULY 13, 1937 – OCTOBER 04, 2020

Marlin H. Large, 83, of Orlando, FL, passed away on October 04, 2020 from congestive heart failure at home with his wife and family.

Marlin was born, July 13, 1937, to Harvey and Thelda Large in Kingston, Ohio. After graduation from High School, he joined the U.S. Air Force. During his tour of duty in Germany, he married Carole G. Keay, with whom he had a chance meeting while in Orlando, FL before flying to Germany. They corresponded back and forth before deciding to marry, and Carole flew to Germany to be wed. After Marlin's tour of duty in Germany, he made Orlando, FL his home with his new wife and 1st child.

Some years later, Marlin and family, now 4 children, moved to San Bernadino, CA for his job working as a civilian at Norton Air Force Base. But missing Florida, Marlin decided to move his family back home to Orlando after only one year.

In 1970, Marlin was hired by Walt Disney World in the Audio/Visual Dept. during their opening in Orlando. He continued working at WDW and advanced to Maintenance Supervisor until his retirement in 2001. He had so many stories of the unusual and funny events that happened during his long career there.

In 2002, Marlin became a member of the Catholic Church, Holy Family, and was proud of his involvement with RCIA.

After retiring, Marlin did some traveling, but his favorite pastime was being with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved the grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sports events, and attended faithfully. He was their "Boppie".

Marlin was predeceased by his parents, Harvey and Margaret Large (stepmother) and Thelda Allgire (mother), and his brothers, Doug Paxton, Larry Large, and Bill Large. He is survived by his Wife, Carole G. Large, Children, Cheryl Young, Scott Large, Cathy Large, and Carrie Butler, 5 Grandchildren, Christopher, Travis, Cody, Jessica and Kayla, and 3 Great-Grandchildren, Hannah, Michael, and Ulysses. His is also survived by brother, David Large, and sisters, Nancy Wright, Alice Beavers, Mary Moss, and Linda Snyder.

Marlin was a gentle, kind man with a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed. He taught us all, by example, how to be a good person and the importance of family.

Celebration of Life Service to be held October 26th, 2020 at DeGusipe Funeral Home.
