Mark Damian
Napoli
Apr 8, 1968 — Jul 3, 2026
On Friday, July 3, 2026, Mark Damian Napoli passed away unexpectedly in his home. Mark was a devoted and loving husband to his wife of 29 years, Mary, and a strong, caring father to his daughter, Brenis. His greatest joy was the people he loved, and his life was defined by his generosity, humor, faith, and unwavering desire to make those around him happy.
Mark was born on April 8th, 1968. He grew up in Blue Island, Illinois as one of seven brothers and one sister. After moving to Florida in middle school, Mark later became an accomplished athlete at Lake Mary High School, playing multiple varsity sports. He then proudly served in the United States Army for eight years.
Mark's career as a construction superintendent gave him skills that he was always eager to use for others. He never hesitated to lend a hand to a neighbor, a friend, someone at his beach condo complex, or anyone who needed help. Whether it was a quick repair, a touch-up, a renovation, or a major remodeling project, Mark was always willing to help. He had a remarkable ability to see what needed to be done and figure out how to make it happen. That was Mark–resourceful, capable, and always ready to show his love through what he could do for others.
If Mark loved anything nearly as much as his family, it was bringing people together around a table. He had a passion for hosting friends, family, and quite often complete strangers. Impromptu gatherings somehow became large meals, and Mark was always prepared. Years of family recipes, countless trips to his local Publix, and a willingness to cook far more food than anyone could possibly need earned him a well-deserved reputation for being talented in the kitchen and behind the grill.
Mark never believed in doing anything halfway. He used extra. Did the most. He made sure there was more than enough. And, most importantly, he made sure you never left his table hungry.
Mark was known as one of the most fun people to be around. His signature laugh was unmistakable–loud, infectious, and impossible to forget. It was the kind of laugh that could be picked out in a crowd in a fraction of a second. If he was not laughing, fishing, or cooking, he was spending the rest of his days calling his loved ones to say literally anything or nothing at all. The people he loved knew it often.
Mark was a Catholic Christian and found great peace in prayer and in his relationship with God and Christ. His faith was an important part of his life and provided him with comfort, strength, and hope.
Above all, Mark will be remembered for his heart. He had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome, cared for, and happy. His life goal was simple: to make other people happy. He accomplished that goal in more ways than he likely ever realized. Though he is deeply missed, the memories he created and the love he gave will remain forever.
