Marjorie O. Yeaton, 88, of Windermere, FL, formerly of Cheshire, CT, passed away on August 25, 2016 at her home, after a long illness.
Marjorie was born on December 15, 1927 in New Haven, CT the daughter of the late Robert H. and Florence M. O'Neill.
She was a high school teacher of English and History, beginning in North Haven and ultimately retiring from The Eli Whitney Technical School in Hamden. She earned BA, MA and MS Degrees and teaching gave her great pleasure and a sense of accomplishment.
After her retirement from teaching, she became a teller and mortgage specialist at Home Bank in Cheshire. It was a part-time position and a source of great pleasure.
Marjorie was a member of the Cheshire Women's Club, the Cheshire Senior Center and a communicant at St. Bridget Church, where she was an enthusiastic supporter of the late Reverend Robert Ricciardi.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Marjorie Y. Wellek, who brought great joy into her life. She also leaves Charles and Marjorie Karcher, her niece, and their children, Zachary and Emilee in Devore, California and several other nieces and nephews in California and in Wyoming.
She was predeceased by her brother, Robert H. O'Neill, Jr. and her sister, Rosemary O'Neill Maher, her beloved son-in-law, Alexander Wellek, and her former husband, Edmund P. Yeaton.
