Marion Pateas, 89, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2020 with her family by her side. She is survived by Nicholas Pateas, her husband of sixty-five years and her children, George (Kim) Pateas, Andrea (John) Christy, and Susan (Stephen) Besedick; grandchildren Drew, Michael, Alec, Matt, Allison, Olivia, and Nicholas; and several nieces and nephews. She was loved by many—family, friends, and neighbors.
Marion was born March 24, 1931 in McKees Rocks, PA. and received a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from West Liberty College. She taught music in the Ohio and Pennsylvania Schools and was soprano soloist for over twenty years in the Poland Presbyterian Church in Poland, Ohio.
Marion had a love for family gatherings, music, art, bridge, golf and was a great cook. Marion and her husband, Nick, were high school sweethearts and had known each other since grade school. They dated for eight years before marrying and shared their love of music with one another singing duets in the high school choir and by request. Marion had a welcoming nature and openness to include everyone as family; anyone who knew Marion loved her for her beautiful spirit and generous heart.
Due to restrictions brought about by the COVID virus, a "Celebration of Life" will be planned for a later date. Please return to this website at a later date for service information.
The family of Marion Pateas invites you to leave a message of condolence on the Tribute Wall created in her loving memory.
