Obituary

Mario Bedoya Osorio 83 of 1420 Lobelia Drive., Lake Mary Florida, passed away after a long illness on the morning of Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023; in Lake Mary Florida.

Mario was born in Ibague Colombia South America on March 2, 1940 to parents Celio Bedoya Mejia and Herminia Osorio Valencia. After both his father's passing in Colombia in 1942, when Mario was only 2 years old, and his high school graduation in 1958, he looked to his mother Herminia Estefan Osorio and his new step father, the late Dr. Alfonso E. Estefan of Longwood Florida, in 1959 for an opportunity to start a new life in the United States.

Mario began his new life by attending Alfred University in New York where he studied Mechanical Systems Drafting while his parents were living in Boston Massachusetts. After completing his studies at Alfred University, he married the late Sharon Anderson Streeter of Rochester, N.Y., who he met in college. Mario and Sharon settled in Rochester New York where their daughter Sandra Lea Bedoya Anderson was born in 1964, followed by their son Richard Bedoya Anderson in 1967.
After 30 years of working for Erdman & Anthony Engineering Inc. of Rochester New York, he came to Central Florida in 2006; his parents whom also had worked in Rochester N.Y., retired and moved to Central Florida in 1997.

Mario is the last of the Bedoya Osorio brothers. He was preceded in passing by his brothers, Ivan Bedoya Osorio, Alvaro Bedoya Osorio, Celio Bedoya Osorio Jr., and Rodrigo Bedoya Osorio, all who lived in Colombia South America. He is also survived by his brothers, John Charles Estefan Osorio of Longwood Florida and Richard Anthony Estefan Osorio of Lake Mary, Florida. He is also survived by his daughter Sandra Lea Bedoya of Webster N.Y., His late son Richard Bedoya Anderson, of Webster N.Y., preceded him in death, a granddaughter, Zoe Bedoya Emmons of Hampton New Hampshire, a nephew, Rodrigo Alberto Bedoya Olivella from Detroit Michigan, and a Niece, Adriana Bedoya Olivella of Bloomfield Indiana.

His wake is scheduled for May 1, 2023 at the DeGusipe Funeral Home located at 9001 N Orlando Ave. Maitland, FL 32751 from the hours of 6:00 PM to 8:00PM. His Funeral Mass will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church located at 1020 Montgomery Rd Altamonte Springs, FL 32714 on May 2, 2023 at 1:30 PM. His burial will be at Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery immediately following the mass, located at 3229 E Semoran Blvd Apopka, FL 32703 where his late parents were also laid to rest.
