Marilyn Gassler Hogarth Ullrich died on March 28, 2016 at the age of 84. She was born in the Niagara Falls area of N. Y. on June 19, 1931 to Lavergne and Beatrice Gassler.

Along with her older sister, Beverly, the girls were raised in the picturesque village of Youngstown, a farming community with a pretty town center that bordered the Niagara River. Marilyn could often be seen by passersby riding her beloved horse, Dude, through the scenic countryside. From Youngstown, the family moved to Orlando, Florida where Marilyn graduated high school. She graduated from Florida State University and later attended the Buffalo School of Nursing where she earned a Registered Nursing degree. Once her schooling was completed she married Harvey Hogarth, a lad from Youngstown.

Three children, Gregory, Kathy and David, were born from this union. Although Marilyn did practice nursing in the Central Florida area hospitals, being a homemaker and mother was her primary focus. In 1982 she reunited with and married Donald E. Ullrich, a man she also knew from her home place of Youngstown.

Donald enriched her life with a blending of his family of three sons and their wives. Don and Marilyn enjoyed traveling the globe and spending time with their family and friends in Houston, TX, Crested Butte, CO, and the Central Florida area. They resided in Longwood, FL until her death.
She is survived by her husband, Don, their children, Gregory, Kathy, David, Graham, Tupper, and Carter, her daughters-in-law, Sue, Betsy, and Donna, her son-in-law Dean, and their grandchildren, Easton, Jessica, Penelope, Cameron, Lauren, and Reed.

The family is having a private family burial and respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be given to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.

The family of Marilyn would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and other dedicated professionals who helped to care for Marilyn over the past few months.
