Obituary

Marilyn Lucas Baisden passed away comfortably and peacefully in Orlando, Florida on June 16, 2026, at the age of 88.

Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on January 16, 1938, to Margaret Frances Killeen Lucas and Dr. Laurence Albert Lucas, Marilyn graduated in the first graduating class of Catholic High School, now known as Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School, in Oklahoma City. She attended Duchesne College of Omaha, Nebraska, and influenced by her father's profession as a dentist, Marilyn transferred and graduated from Baylor Dental College Dental Hygiene program in Dallas, Texas.

Following graduation, Marilyn moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she practiced dental hygiene for over 50 years. She met her husband, James (Jim) Murray Baisden, and they built their waterfront dream home. Marilyn enjoyed attending workshops on current events, travel and investing. She will fondly be remembered for capturing the memories and moments of each family gathering with her camera. Marilyn was loved for her warm greetings and compliments.

Marilyn was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Jim; her two older brothers, Laurence D. Lucas and Gerald P. Lucas; and brother-in-law, Jay C. Nelson.

She is survived by her two sons, Brian and Blair; three sisters, Susie Nelson, Kay Lucas and Gayle Semtner (Barney); sister-in- law, Jean Richardson; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

We are thankful for all that cared for Marilyn. A special thank you and appreciation is to Marilyn's angel for the last five years, Elaine, for her continuing friendship and caring.
