Dr. Marilyn Frances Hays, 70 Apopka, Florida, passed away February 14, 2019
Born in Arlington, VA, Dr. Marilyn was the older daughter of George and Helen Wood. In recognition of her work as a leading voice in the treatment of, as well as advocate for children and young adults on the Autism/Asperger's spectrum, she was awarded the Christa McAuliffe Scholarship Award. She was passionate about her work and will be remembered for her teaching and mentoring of souls whose lives she touched. She was also passionate and devoted to her loving family. She and her husband, Mark were married on August 12, 1984 and shared a loving and rewarding life together. She had an especially close relationship with her sister Phyllis Wood, Orlando and her nephew, Spencer Wood, Atlanta. Dr. Marilyn and her bright smile leave a lasting and heartwarming impression on those who were blessed to call her friend, colleague or beloved.
A celebration of life will be held at her childhood and her sister, Phyllis's home on Saturday, March 9 at 2 pm.
