Marie Elizabeth West, beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and friend, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 28, at the age of 71. She was born on February 4th, 1953, in St. Petersburg, Florida. Marie was known for her loving and kind heart, infectious laugh, immense love for her family, and sense of humor. Marie's most significant accomplishments included raising her three children, whom she cherished as her pride and joy. Despite life's challenges, Marie's unwavering compassion for others and her resilience in the face of adversity were truly inspiring. Her work in the banking industry brought joy to co-workers and customers alike. Her passion for growing plants, a trait she inherited from her mother, was a testament to her resilience. She was very proud of a Christmas cactus cutting her mother gave her, which she kept alive for over 30 years, symbolizing her enduring strength. The loss of this plant due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Milton was heartbreaking, but she persevered, inspiring us all with her fortitude. Marie's passing has left a profound void in the hearts of her immense family and all those who knew and loved her. Her memory will continue to live on and inspire strength, dedication, and generosity in those she touched. But the depth of her absence is keenly felt, a testament to her impact on us all. Marie was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Edith Swetland, and grandchildren, Elijah West and Logan Overall. She is survived by her husband, William West; children Charlotte Yeomans, Brian West, and Julie Overall; grandchildren Jessica and Joshua Yeomans, Emily, Nathan, Ruth, and Anna West, and Cody and Raylin Overall.
