Marie Raymond, 91, died October 16, 2020, with her family by her side in Altamonte Springs, FL.
She was born to her parents Marie Est?le Bergevin and Charles Dupont as Marie Agn?s Est?le Dupont on July 21, 1929 in Le Salle, Quebec, Canada. She moved to St. Petersburg, FL at an early age and later graduated from St Vincent's nursing college in Jacksonville, FL, in 1950.
Marie married George Barr Raymond on 24 October 1953, and moved to Lakeland, FL, where she was a nurse at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center for almost five decades. During their many years together, Marie had six children—Michael, Valerie, Dottie, Jeanne, George, and Marguerite.
Marie was an active member of her church community in Lakeland and volunteered for years at Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine as an RN.
Marie especially enjoyed Christmastime among the company of her family—including her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Even in her later years, Marie had a sharp wit (as evidenced by her often clever remarks), liked helping prepare family Thanksgiving meals, and enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of over fifty years, and is survived by her sister Adele Hopkins (92 years), of St. Petersburg, FL, her six children, fifteen grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.
